Install Assistia and its AI components on Windows

Assistia installs and starts the AI components locally on your PC.

1. Install from Assistia

  1. Open Assistia.
  2. Click Settings at the bottom right.
  3. Click Install missing components.
  4. Assistia checks Ollama, ComfyUI, and the developer agent, then installs only what is missing.

ComfyUI and the developer agent are installed in Assistia's local data with dedicated Python environments. If a Python version is missing, Assistia installs uv, then fetches the correct version.

2. Manual Ollama installation

You can also install Ollama from the official page: Download Ollama for Windows.

After installation, check in PowerShell:

ollama --version

If Assistia cannot find Ollama automatically, enter its path in Settings, then Ollama path.

  • Program FilesC:\Program Files\Ollama\ollama.exe

3. ComfyUI and developer agent

In most cases, no extra system configuration is required. Assistia installs ComfyUI and Aider inside its own application folders.

After installation, download models from Settings: Ollama models for chat and ComfyUI models for image generation.

4. Start

  1. Open Assistia.
  2. Assistia starts Ollama on 127.0.0.1:11434 when the component is installed but stopped.
  3. If ComfyUI is installed, Assistia also tries to start its server on 127.0.0.1:8188.
  4. Use the Chat tab to talk and the Image generator tab to create images.
